A Vision for Revival

Will you not revive us again, that your people may rejoice in you?
Show us your steadfast love, O Lord, and grant us your salvation.
Psalm 85:6-7

As Pastor here with Christ’s Chapel, as of recent I have been greatly burdened for the people of God.  As I have went to the Lord in worship and in prayer, I find the reoccurring theme of my prayer to be a crying out for a deepening relationship with the Lord, to be realized amongst all of his people, an unstoppable revival welling up from within.

Through the psalmists writing (Ps85), we find a cry out to God, in reflection of the need and anticipation for God’s restorative power upon his people.  We see that there is a declaration of the need for God’s forgiveness and a hunger for the righteousness of God, believing that he will pour out his steadfast love, faithfulness, righteousness, and peace, in a mighty way.  This we find to be a vision for the spiritual revival of the people.  Today, I believe that in this season of looking to the cross of Christ, as all God’s people are before the Lord God in his word, in prayer and in fasting – seeking a renewal in spirit – seeking to hear the voice of God – God by his power will birth a revival within each hungry soul.

I trust that this is your cry today, that God will meet you in your hour of need, touching you in the physical and strengthening you in the spiritual – molding you into His divine image.  As pastors, clergy, church leaders, students and congregants, may we all join together in this season of spiritual preparation for the coming celebration of the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ (Resurrection Sunday), believing for a spiritual revival by the power of the Holy Spirit upon all God’s people!   May we preach Jesus Christ, and Him crucified (1 Cor 2:2), declaring His conquering of death – securing our justification – making atonement for our souls (Lev. 17:11, 1 Pet.2:24, 1 John 2:2)!

Let us believe for a renewed touch from the Lord, a manifestation of his love, salvation, righteousness, and a rejoicing of the souls of the people of God across the congregations we serve!

Believing for Revival,
Chairman Simeon Strauser
