I am a living proof of God’s grace and mercy. As a high school student, I was blessed to become part of Project 10-16, a significant chapter in my life. Coming from a low income family, life was never easy. My parents worked tirelessly to provide for us, but their income was just enough to cover our basic needs. Pursuing my dreams of education felt like a distant goal, yet with God’s favor and the unwavering support of mommy Sonia Wilson, my sponsor, made it possible. With the help of Project 10-16, I was able to focus on my studies without worrying about how we would afford school expenses. I excelled academically and represented my school in the District and Division Competitions, and through God’s guidance, I graduated from high school with flying colors.
University brought even greater challenges, especially during the pandemic. My family struggled even more financially, and there were moments when I thought I might have to stop studying altogether. But God had other plans. With the support of Project 10-16 and my family’s encouragement, I pressed on. In my third year, I had to leave home and be away from my loved ones to pursue my studies. It was one of the most difficult seasons of my life, as I missed the comfort and strength of my family. Yet, I held on to the belief that this sacrifice was for a better future, not just for me, but for my family, who had supported me with all they have, despite our limited means.
On August 15, 2024, I graduated with a Bachelor of the Industrial (Engineering) Technology, Major in Electrical Technology. Now, I am preparing for my board exam while working to support myself and my family. Inspired by the support I received, I pledge to let others experience what I experienced. This time, I will also support someone financially (through Project 10-16) and help them, just as others have done for me.
My story is a testament that no matter how tough life gets, God’s grace and mercy can move mountains. Coming from a low status family is not a hindrance to success; it is a reminder to remain humble and determined. I am deeply grateful to mommy Sonia Wilson, Project 10-16, Taysan Full Gospel Church, and most especially to my family, who never stopped believing in me. To anyone considering sponsoring a child, know that your generosity can transform lives in ways you cannot imagine. You are not just providing financial support; you are giving hope and a chance for dreams to come true. My journey stands as proof that when you trust God, and keep fighting for your dreams, he will always provide a way.
What a wonderful and inspiring story. Are prayers are with this young lady.
Praise the Lord! Great advancement for God’s Kingdom
