About Christ’s Chapel:Christ’s Chapel is the lead central congregation of the Full Gospel Assemblies (https://fgai.org/), of the evangelical Full Gospel distinctive, offering congregational ministry, community and church mission outreach, locally and into the nations, under the leadership of FG Chairman, Senior Pastor, Simeon Strauser.
Our mission is to proclaim the gospel that brings salvation and transformation through Jesus Christ (2Cor 5:17), as the command of the Lord Jesus is followed to “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20).
The community (Chester County, PA) that we serve is multi-racial, educationally and economically diverse, predominantly speaking English. Chester County is rich in diversity with six (6) colleges, the County Seat, and approximately 552,000 residents.
Christ’s Chapel generally reflects the makeup of the community we serve, with attendees speaking the English / Filipino languages. Church family median age: 51. Church family: <80.
Pastoral Internship:
Purpose and Benefit:
This internship is to provide an atmosphere within the local church of Christ’s Chapel setting to expose, train, equip, and affirm the candidate for pastoral ministry, purposing to build the church of our Lord Jesus, evangelizing and reaching souls with the salvation message of Christ Jesus. Benefits to the Intern may be expected to include;
- Receive a supportive and loving environment of a local church that assumes responsibility for the care, exposure, training, and education of the intern.
- Receive practical exposure, understanding and training for the essential areas of pastoral ministry within the local church and community.
- Gain understanding of church structure, and participation with local and international missions, and worldwide education ministry.
- Gain an official church position approved by the church, which may be credited in reflecting ministry experience.
- Exposure to a pastor’s daily schedule to assist in self evaluation of the individual calling.
- Additionally, this internship works in cooperation with PST (Phrear School of Theology, https://phrear.org/) to provide credit for applied ministry class(es), (Ministry Practicum 2503-I-VII) for enrolled students.
Duration:
This internship position is being offered to both, students and pastoral career candidates.
Students: Those active in ministry studies, discovering the calling of God for their life, seeking to grow academically, spiritually and personally. Students may be enrolled with PST, or with another (Christ’s Chapel leadership approved) school of ministry training program.
Duration. 3 months (May through August) or an agreed upon schedule up to 2 years in the event student is enrolled for online studies.
Pastoral Candidates: Those who are graduate students, graduates, or those with active ministry experience, seeking to grow in their pastoral calling. Experienced candidates may be semi-retired, bi-vocational or career pastoral candidates for consideration.
Duration. An agreed upon schedule 3 months up to 2 years, with understanding that the pastoral internship position may lead toward the offer to continue to serve Christ’s Chapel within a staff / associate pastor position upon conclusion of internship.
Compensation: Applicants must be eligible to work in the U.S. to be granted compensation.
Students: 3 Month Internship: Competitive Hourly salary. Benefits: Education grant(s).
Students: Up to 2 yr Internship: Competitive Hourly salary. Benefits: Education grant(s).
Pastoral Candidates: Competitive Salary based on experience. Benefits: Education grant(s). Negotiable: Ministry Parsonage, Housing Allowance.
Hourly Requirements:
Students: Approximately 15 hours weekly.
Weekdays. Flexible to intern’s need and availability
Sunday: 9:00am – 3:30pm
Pastoral Candidates: 32-40 hours weekly.
Weekdays. Generally: 9-5. Candidate to be flexible as ministry develops.
Sunday: 9:00am – 3:30pm
Objectives:
Student and Pastoral Candidates: To gain in training, knowledge, exposure and participation, under Christ’s Chapel pastoral leadership.
- A walk with a disciplined prayer life.
- Sharing in the education of God’s people with sermon planning, preparation, and facilitation.
- Young adult discipleship / church integration.
- Worship service planning, preparation, and facilitation.
- Pastoral care: hospitals, visitation, member care as such presents.
- Community ministry as the Lord leads.
- Leadership meetings (pastors, staff, trustees, committees, etc.), funerals and weddings.
- Facilitation and representation of the Christ’s Chapel cooperative ministry to Full Gospel Assemblies.
- When enrolled – PST applied ministry (Ministry Practicum) requirements and/or additional study requirements.
- Periodic pastoral / intern briefings and follow through.
